LOL! Is that two little tigers I see at the base of the tree? That's what I luv to see...someone who's in touch with their inner child. This tree is stunning Keith...bravo! What exposure does it have in this window? Do you provide additional artificial light as well?
Fabulous work! :)

WOW! Now that is a great tree. Its just so 名媛直播 like, it has all the characteristics of a great bonsai, great nebari, great trunk movement, great branch movement... Now just to get the ramification of the leaves and branches looking good and then its perfect

leslie ,
they were my youngest daughters but one of the house rules is if i step on a toy its mine.i got one about 2 weeks ago and the other was a few days ago :P its more if i like them they are mine after i step on them :cheer: they were the perfect scale and fit the jungle motif she thought they looked good too so she was alright with it...
as for the lighting i have a fishtank light with a 2 foot full spectrum florescent tube.i am considering making it 2 because the leaves had a tendency to get pretty large over last winter which is caused by low light levels.

joncoh,
thanks, i am quite amazed myself how fast she's changed.it makes it look like i know what im doing :pinch:

Very nice indeed. This tree has really grown into a nice piece. Hope you every once in a while put the old pics on the table and look at them. Just remember to keep clipping the young growth back to one or two leaves to keep internodal distances down.

I have done some thinking on the roots. I think you can consider cerfully getting the oddly-bent root off. It will create a hole in the roots but you might be able to grow the thin root besides it maybe by putting it in a pocket of nutrient-richt soil. Hard to see exactly on the pics, but it could work, from what I see there.

LB ,
i have been basically defoliating without much branch shortening . the next pruning session i am planning to shorten the branches as much as possible without loosing too much of the ramification.springtime will be time for the roots .i've been trying to locate a new more shallow pot for her to stay in before root pruning but it may have to go back into the trainer. i am quite curious on how flexable the base roots are.alot of them are fused together so it should be a stressful but informative session

You're right Keith...the view in the sink is very cool. :P

I'm not quite understanding where you *did* prune; was it just some of the developed leaves or some branches too? Did you leave the wiring as is? How do you give her a "bath"?

I feel like a young child asking so many questions.
You've done a fabulous job on this tree ~ you should be very pleased with your achievements! ;)

hey leslie,
well the pruning was the newly grown branch ends i cut them back to the next sprouting internode and some of the unneeded sprouts.the wiring wasn't messed with too much .i had 2 younger branches that were cutting in so i removed that wire, otherwise i left them or tweeked them alittle.as for the bath it is more like a shower but thats how i water her...it reminds me of when the kids got their baths in the sink when they were wee ones.it may sound silly but im nuts and thats normal:P
