I think Leatherback wanted to make sure you weren't being sold "snake oil". There are some places out there that tag on the word bonsai to drive up the price for the misinformed. Example bonsai seeds.

I've seen bonsai seeds before, on Amazon mostly. Are those not a good thing to buy? I'm curious!

It depends. Do you want to learn the art of bonsai, invest many years in study and practice or do you want to have a fancy looking plant, that's an imitation of a bonsai and that - as you will find out if you read numerous topics on this forum - will almost never become a real bonsai and in many cases actually will eventually die?

A bonsai is simply a normal tree trained. So if someone is selling seeds that are for bonsai then they are tacking on the word bonsai to drive up the price.

for someone asking for help you are a bit rude. Why not take in information veing offered eithiut stroking everyones hair the wrong way?

Food is not fertilizer (or do you have fertilizer for dinner?)
