Tree ID?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Darn Walmart! was created by Cassi189

I've Google'd my brains out on this one! I grabbed this little fellow from Walmart, he looked a little sad... :(
I'm not sure if the leaves are suppose to be drooping/wrinkling like they are? Also, any tips on if it needs trimming? There's a few new growth branches and the little clump of leaves at the base. Should I take those off?

Thank you so much! The wrinkled leaves were throwing me off! It's in place now, at my office, and will be getting plenty of water! Thank you!

Is there a way to tell which species of Ligustrum it is?

Welcome to forum.

"Plenty of watering" is a tree killer as well. Water it just enough to be healthy. If you keep it in the office, make sure it gets best of what this spieces demands. Good luck.

Thank you. I've had a Ficus in my office for 4 months or so and it's done wonderfully. I'm hoping this guy does well also. I've read up on this species and it doesn't seem too difficult, hopefully! My focus has done well with the normal room lighting, but I'm going to place the new guy under a closer desk top light I have, just in case. Would leaving it under the closer light from the evening until the next morning be too much? Or would it be ok with 24 hr (half day general room light and half closer desk light) be ok?

Your research also should have told you that you have purchased a mallsai, with decorative stones and dead moss that you won't find on real bonsai.
This plant may do OK indoors, but that doesn't mean it will do well in an office environment.

My research and some commen sense DID tell me that. I'm still a beginner in the world of bonsai. But I bought this little guy to, hopefully, get it healthy and give it a long life. I have plans on re-potting it, but I'd like to wait until the leaves look a little healthier, since finding out it's because of thirst. I'm only here for positive, helpful advice. And I'd hope that the way your posts are coming off is just a text to speech failure/misunderstanding. I'd guess so/hope so, since it's ultimately just a little tree and I haven't even owned bonsais for more than 4 months. But I've done some research, bought "bonsai food" and made plans to give these guys a good life and enjoy them, yes, from my office. Thanks to everyone for the constructive advice.
