Thanks for your appreciation but I don't really care if its a good one or not, it was a gift and from what I researched it wasn't more than 20-25 euros, and I'm good with that, I like it the way it is. :)

Yes a Chinese elm. And I started out with this exact same tree-style 15 years ago :)

One has to start from somewhere, isn't it?
Thanks Oscar for being positive and showing your Chinese Elm.
It is definitely a 名媛直播.

They mass produce trees like this in fields in China, with little care or thought. 名媛直播 is part art, part horticulture. To be a "great" bonsai, both of these areas need to be addressed. It only matters if you want to win competitions and stuff, or you just want a tree you're happy with. If you want to practice bonsai as a hobby, this is a perfectly acceptable gateway drug. If you just want the one tree, keep it as long as you're happy with it.

Ah, I see now ...
Well, I'm a beginner and an amateur, this is my second bonsai and I only want to practice it as a hobby, from my point of view this fella is super cute and I like it the way he is.

Cheers Zarniwoop!
