Please don't dig this one up, unless it was the bull dosser heading it's way, sort of thing. Trim off all those trunks but one, and wait.

Thank you for the replies. LB I had my suspicions too as I bought it online the photo for the advert (titled Ficus retusa) and I was very disappointed to see mine didn't resemble the one photographed and that the lady I get my bonsai from had a much bigger one for a little bit more money. If I get a clearer photo tommorrow do you think you can confirm your suspicions? As I'd like to sort it if not.

Also I wasn't planning on doing too much styling this year on the juniper. Maybe a bit of pruning If needed?

I did not get this from said bonsai seller. Got it off amazon and was falsely represented with a photo of a nice retusa lol (I liked it anyway)

Unfortunately they've sold the house and the new owners will tear it out.

Do you not think it has current potential?

I don't plan on putting into a bonsai pot yet. It will go back into a deep pot.

it's to much like a bush, make a good hedge, now. Trees just don't normally have so many trunks.

If your careful, you might end up with a bunch of trees out of this. I can't tell from here.

Oh my :(

It's the standard mass-produced mallsai with the typical S-bend.

I know. Ive already sent an email to the seller expressing my disappointment. It certainly does not look like a retusa and certainly not the one pictured.

That's because it is a bush  I know what you mean though. I'm hoping one day I can carve it (I'm a carpenter) and another way of looking at it its free practise for collecting yamadori and I'm saving it from inevitable death (if I'm successful) .

There's also another one there and 2 thick trunked conifers.
