Good insight can be helpful to the right person at the right time. Newbies can easily forget that and so can experienced artist.Auk wrote:

Hmm... sounds familiar. I wonder who wrote that

if they would, they would have used google to look up info BEFORE buying the plant..
patience is a key word in the hobby..
sadly enought, some beginners are so patient that they forget to water most of the time and only spring into action when it's too late..
if you want something pretty to put by the window, buy
- a vase or another lifeless object
- a cat.. sleeps 20 hours a day and loves a good spot by the window... but don't forget to feed!
it's lazyness, ignorance and expectation that it will go automatic..
when buying a tree: don't buy a tree labeled as bonsai.. trust me, most of the time it isn't
buy a bonsai/pre-bonsai/starter in a specialised nurcery where they also have older more expensive specimen.. this way you are ensured that the seller has at least basic knowledge
look for a club to join and maybe let them assist you in chosing a first tree.. a lot of clubs give workshops where you can buy a tree and immediately get all the info you need..

There are always people willing to help, they just get annoyed when people ask the same questions that have been answered many times, while the people asking the question apparently haven't done much research themselves, give very little information for us to be able to properly assess the plan, and post no picture, or a picture of something that is not a bonsai.
And yet, you just did the same. Questions about 'unhappy junipers' are amongst the most frequently asked questions. Your plant did not suddenly get ill, it has been sick for a long time. The picture you posted is of a young juniper - it is not a bonsai. You have given very little information about how you care for it and where you keep it and things like your local climate.
You could have found the above opinion reading through some other posts on this forum, but you didn't. So yeah... that's a pain.

Please report any post you feel might be troll-stuff; we'll look into it and take action if we see some evidence to support your feeling
Thanks!
