I think some of that was the placement near a fence, and not cutting back soon enough.. the browing was all pretty much on the inner foliage.. we'll see if the work on the roots did any damage soon..

this was actually my second repot.. I repotted once, and cut the box it was in down by about 1/3 and then I put it in this pot. going to go for a sunnier spot.

This mornings sun gave me the opportunity to take come pictures. I did a couple of trims this year.
Anyone know how easy it would be to graft branches into this guy? the dwarf hinoki cultivar doesn't backbud, and I'd like to try to get a branch or two somewhere along the trunk.

I find it very difficult for a Hinoki to look natural, this one is looking good
