For that sort of money I would not buy it. But I am cheap when it comes to buying material.
I agree, I think with 300USD can get a better bonsai...
I'm taking everyone's advice and not buying it. I'm just having a hard time finding good material. And when I search for Nursery stock, I find that anything with a large trunk is just as expensive as this tree. I'm also not super experienced with picking out Nursery stock to use for bonsai so I am apprehensive. I would like to have a treee that needs wired and pruned but Is of size. The material I own now is not all that exciting. ...but I'm enthusiastic
yeah that's kind of how it works in the beginning.. You have to be patient, it will get better as you get better. Is there a 名媛直播 club where you live? you should join it, that is one of the easiest ways to get good material.
I am going to the nurseries in my area almost every day just to expose myself to the varieties and hopefully find something that will catch my eye. There is a bonsai group in my area but I can't make their next meeting. I have messaged the group and some people who grow to inquire about their stock. I'm finding that patience is a virtue.

What size are you hoping to start with? You have said you have limited outdoor space. Can you got a larger pot from growing out material? Can you overwinter them outside?

I have indoor lighting and humidity to keep tropicals and subtropicals. I have enough space outside fora couple, and If need be I can take them to my in laws house to store them since they live close by and have much more space outdoors. That's why I'm mostly focused in finding a Ficus or something that can thrive indoor. ...unless I find an outdoor tree that is perfect and I can't live without.

I don't think anyone has said you have to move young material outside of a bonsai pot to get it to mature. However it will take much longer to mature in a bonsai pot because the growth is constrained. Are larger pots just not an option?

I'd like something that hasn't already been styled or maybe only lightly styled/ grown with bonsai in mind. A bigger pot is an option I suppose.
