In autumn, the needles become pink/bronze and fall off.. once the needles have fallen it's dormant.. my Redwood survived -10 . If it gets colder, protect it.. a shed or garage with 0 to 5 degrees is good enough..
Do not Keep it indoors other than that heavy Frost protection..
But i'm guessing it's one of those 10€ mass production kind of Redwood you've got.

Thank you i called a bonsai enthusiast he said the same thing about this trees care during winter
