Reading your posts really has helped me and you sound very knowledgeable which I know through more research I to will gain more knowledge and be able to create a piece of beautiful art at this moment I'm struggling to decide how to repot this tree (do I use a normal pot) or put it in the ground? Do I leave it outside? do I chop the top branches off?? There is so much to learn I just don't know where to start.......

Put different topics in the search box and research some of your questions. This helped me also. Go to the woods and just study trees and see how they have developed. Look at some masterpiece's of bonsai. Videos are great also, but make sure they are from those who truly know bonsai. I like Graham Potters and Iqbal Khan.
I wish you all the best and soon you and I will be showing healthy trees on this forum on their way to becoming bonsai!

If you must repot it, I would buy a ready made bonsai soil. Shouldn't be expensive.
Something like this costs EUR 2.69 in the Netherlands:
First just let the plant get healthy and vigorous. Just wait with next steps, you've got plenty of time.

The waiting kills me, especially if I'm not sure if there is a problem, but that is part of learning. Once I learn what is truly an issue and what is a false alarm I will be so glad. Junipers can die and stay green for awhile yet, so there can be a problem you don't know about until it's too late.
Watering is a trick. I can feel down half and inch and it is dry, so I water. Is it too much....is it too little. Mine plants are in clay pots yet and I'm using some bonsai soil and regular potting soil. Is it holding enough water, too much.....i have all these questions as you do also probably. We will learn.
I'll be glad when I have experience and feel more relaxed about just the basics.
