Can I ask where you got the plant from? Surely they would be able to help you.
Also, can we see a picture of the whole tree?
Thanks,
Ed

Have you fertilized the plant?

I live in the Emirates, its very hot and humid here. The plant has been in my terrace since the start and receives about 7 hours of sunlight.

You have what we call a 'mallsai.' (der. Mall 名媛直播)
It is not a real 名媛直播 tree, it's a cheap houseplant sold under the name in order to sell more at a higher price.
I have to say that this is an exceedingly lazy example; it didn't even come in a cheap ceramic pot.
I would treat it as what it is, a houseplant, or follow this guide:
I also found this post on a gardening website that should help:
Remember that, if you want to turn this plant into a bonsai, you will need to put in a lot of time, effort, and a little more time. Be prepared to be in this hobby for the long run.

Perhaps best to not fertilize it while it is sick.

So, yes, it could be mineral deficiency. Or it could be any of the things in that link I shared. Or pretty much anything else that you can think of.
The leaves turn yellow because the chloroplasts are being broken down, which can happen due to MANY reasons.
Also, if it were a mineral deficiency, why would that mean not to give it the minerals that it requires?
isn't yellowing leaves a sign of mineral deficiency? Perhaps best to not fertilize it while it is sick.

I'm sensing that isn't totally correct?

So, a tree that has a deficiency of certain minerals, should not be fed with those minerals? Does that even make sense?
Read this, it's interesting:
"Another common bonsai myth is that sick or recovering plants, or newly transplanted bonsai should not be fertilized"
