Hi Topfrag,
Thanks for always been good enough to take the time to reply to my posts.
Do you think I should do a full pot submersion for 30 mins. I was reading a section in the book 名媛直播 SOS. It recommended, removing all leaves, submersion for 30 mins, the cover with a clear poly bag.
I email a UK bonsai supplier/ importer. The suggested buying a large pond basket , put the tree root and soil in the basket and fill with Acadama & pumice. Water till it runs clean then put in a shaded area, thoughts TF?
Cheers

Submersion is a good method if the substrate has got hydrophobic. If the soil is still absorbing water and draining good there are no reason to do that. If it is done 30 min is far too long time. It will suffocate the roots.
Pond baskets is good for air pruning roots in development phase. I am not sure what good it do in this case. Anyway, there are no harm in doing it. I think it is better to learn how to correct water a tree in the pot it is in than changing pot. The issue is not the pot itself.
I totally agree on putting the tree in shade until recovered.
