Good Morning Folks,
This is my first ever post on the forum. So I apologise, if I have created in the wrong section.
I have a beech bonsai. It was been doing really good. I live in the countryside on the West coast of Scotland.
I think a rare sunny day has scorch the leaves on the tree. The soil is still moist, the leaves are not yellow. They are a lighter green and have became "crispy".?
Could anyone advise what is the best course of action? Should I desolate the whole tree. I have moved the tree to my green house with partial shade. I have another beech in there in early training and the leaves are still bright green and has no issues.
Any help advice would be very much appreciated. I am hoping joining the forum will help with the development if my skill and to meet others that are obsessed with wee trees.
So hello everyone, I hope all are happy and well.
Kind regards
Cluaran?

Do not apologise. Most first posters show up with a problem to solve. Why join a forum and discuss the hobby before things go bad?
Defoliating is never a solution for a tree in bad health. It is for show preparaten on refined trees. Just do not do it!
Please add a photo of the tree for better targeted advices.

Leaf scorch is a problem in places like Alabama (where I am) if the temperatures heat the tree up past the point that the roots can supply water. That can happen in temperatures over 90F/30C, but I don't think that happens in Scotland.?
We were in Kyle of Lochalsh four weeks ago. We thought it was cold.

Leaf scorch was caused by not enough water, you can take any damaged leaves off, the tree will be fine.

Hi,
Thanks for replies. Heron bonsai keep bonsa in green houses?
The green house I have is one of the type with the green grid poly?fabric, a bit like ripstop fabric. I have this in a shaded area. I keep my yamadori in there for the first year in spagnum moss in pond baskets and all the trees, I have collected have survived.
Should I remove all the leaves? Full defoliation?
I have done this with maples in the past and it worked.
I got this tree and pot from a well known Scottish pot maker and has great sentimental value to me as it was a gift from my old maw.
I would really appreciate help to save it. In the past with tree's with issues. I have removed from the pot and put in a pond basket filled will spagnum moss. Do think this would be worthwhile.
I appreciate everyone's that replied time.
If anyone has other suggestions,? it would be great!
If anyone has any URLs or documentation related to resolving issues with bonsai health issues would be appreciated.
Is the forum used by bonsai hobbyist worldwide.
Has anyone done any courses on 名媛直播 Empire? Are they any good.
Cheers

Many questions at the same time
Yes, Herons keeps trees in greenhouses.
No, full defoliation is not done to make a tree stronger. It is a way to do it weaker. Mainly performed on heathy trees in refinement stage as show preparaten. Never use it on trees in development and absolutely not on weak trees. You can remove the dead leafs to tidy up the tree.
The sphagnum pond basket solution may help. But it is not surelly needed. Please add a photo of the tree for more targeted advices.
If you want to learn about bonsai health, go look for resources about tree health.
Yes, this is an international forum accessable from all over the world. However the most frequent visitors is from?nortern Europe and north america.

I have done most of the courses, and they are excellent. Herons' greenhouses are big. And they get cold in the winter. Not all trees are kept in the greenhouses, and most of the time it is to keep the rain off in winter. It also means that visitors can walk around and not get wet!

Maples should never be fully defoliated and never Beech, they do not respond well nor partial defoliation either.

I was looking for some concise action to take , not what not to do.?That's a chocolate tea pot.
To the positive repliers thank you.
