Got nothing that can shelter it, reckon a small 'greenhouse' type thing would do the job?

Do not enclose it. Just a roof will do. Or just put it on the East side of your house. Most rain is coming from west at your place, right?

its actually in the most eastern place I could put it in my garden to be honest, any more and itll be in my neighbours garden. My whole garden gets pretty covered from rain.
I've found this 'green house' that I think would do a good job of protecting from the rain whilst not enclosing it - can just keep it open
