You will see advice that says water every day, or water every other day, or water two days out of three, or any other algorithmic schedule. Ignore any of these and water the tree when the soil is dry enough that the tree needs it. Most ficus want the soil to be damp and not dry out, so don't let it dry out.
In the American southwest with outdoor humidity 10%, that might mean twice or even three times a day. In the American southeast (where I live) once a day is usually required, in August twice. in winter when the tree is indoors, twice. In other parts of the world, different times, depending on the humidity and temperature.
