Fertilizer is not food for the plant. It is vitamin for the plant. They can live long time without it and too much will kill it. I see no reason to fertilize a newly repotted seadling.

I thought I needed it because I didn't plant it in soil. I planted it in the inorganic soil which is mostly just shale and forest product. There's not really any soil to get nutrients from. That's why I used the fertilizer.
Now that its in the inorganic soil, I should just leave out the fertilizer and just water it?

Yes, the roots needs to establish before it can utilize the fertilizer.
How did you come up with the idea that forest products dont have any nutrients in it? If that is the case trees dont need nutrients to grow. Obviously parts from a tree contains everything a tree need. Maybe not enough to give your tree everything it needs for its entire life. But quite enough to keep it going without deficiency the first season.

Repotting will damage some feeder roots. There is nothing to do about that, but hope that you don’t do a lot of damage. That will disrupt water and other supplies to the leaves, which may be the reason a leaf or two turns brown. Keep it damp and not in too strong sun for a while.
