Oh I see, then I will until next year to repot.
But it’s safe to prune it now isn’t it?.
Safe or not I cannot say. I am in quite different conditions. However, I concider branch selection a big work I dont do first year. Pruning and thinning out this years growth in mid to late summer I would say is necessary. But again different climate, we dont very often experience the summer dormancy which you might do.

Okay for now I will only wire the branches and focus on keeping the tree healthy.
Thanks!

Getting back to this topic, don’t you think the tree has the foliage a bit far from the trunk?. How could I correct this feature?.
Many thanks.

Yes, maybe the foliage is a little bit far off.
Possible corrections is prunning this years groth in mid summer, and hope for backbudding. However timing may vary according to local climate.
Another possibility is to wire it and move the existig foliage closer to the trunk.

Let this plant grow for a bit. Backbudding in junipers is induced by getting the branches growing strongly and getting the tree health. Once you start getting runners (single growing tps making long runs) of say 5cm long, cut these back well into the foliage mass, you trigger buds in the crotches to start pushing. Naturally, there needs to be sun on the branches where you want budding. In the shade budding is rarer. Just focus on this before wiring, repotting or trimming.
