For the last many years I have gotten tree after tree out of the ground around my house. We were re-landscaping, now I have 6 or 8 azaleas, most 16 years old, one at least 45. One winged elm, and two more I am planning on, and lots more. If I thought pine was anything more than a weed, I could have dozens.
One big advantage is that everything is adjusted to the local climate.
I like to hike in the wilderness. In my day pack, I have a German military folding shovel and some plastic bags. A survival tool with saw is also good to have around...

Please note. In most coutries digging up trees from the wild is unleagal.
In my country all land is eighter private owned or protected. In protected land it is a crime to dig tree. In private land you can dig after agreement with the owner. Without agreement it is concidered stealing.
