Chinese elm advice

Hi there I have this Chinese elm bonsai tree and Iv recently seen the levees brown and wrinkly or with holes and they dont look good I was wandering if you would know what it may be. and what I can do. I live in the uk and have leave it outside. thanks.

It is spring now and it is natural for trees to shed old leafs as new growth is starting. If you think it is so unsightly that you cannot bear it then you can cut the bad looking leafs of. I would not.

do the holes in the leaf mean an pest infection

thanks for your help. i dont see any pest i just assumes the holes in the leaves was from pests eating the leavs.

The holes can be a sign of fungal infections. Do they start as dry spots in the leaves that break open?
