I’m new to this page y’all please forgive my struggles with posting correctly. I really appreciate everyones feedback!! I meant to add that right now it has a layer or DE and sand because it had fungus gnats which I a didn’t want to spread to other plants. That’s why the soil looks so strange.

looks happy enough so keep doing what you are doing.
please note that this plant has been grafted. the cut is where the original plant was cut off and the new, more attractive foliage was grafted on. I see no reason why people would think this was airlayered nor how it is relevant.
you can make it better looking by cutting it flush with the living part and let the top grow for a while.

Thank you! I am planning on repotting it would you suggest waiting until it’s adjusted to the new pot before I try to cut it? Or could I do both? I’ve posted on some other forums as well and the general advice seems to be to cut it flush so I will plan on that. I’m just not sure if it can handle a repot and such a cut at the same time. What are your thoughts?

Correct. Grafted not air layered. If the stump cut of or the base was air layered or not is not really relevant. Thanks for pointing that out lb.

I would make sure the plant is growing happy before cutting.
