So, i am new to the life of 名媛直播 1.5 yrs,
In building my collection I have obtained a very old Red Pine? And I have just started to conceptually think about what I will be removing and wiring.

I would appreciate any tips for keeping a tree this large, alive. I just recently put this pine in a training pot from a planted location near by. No it wasn’t in a forest.

WOW, that's a wonderful trunk!
JRP are a little fussy and not very fast growers. I would let it get used to the pot and prune/wire/decandle after a whole season. I would also follow the year calendar of two needles pines. They don't like to take more than one offense per season. I hope it helps.

I use aluminum, not too thick. But your tree is huge!

Nice big tree.

FOr now, you should not be concerned about which wire you need. For the next 12 months it is all about getting the tree to survive. Pines can be VERY iffy and I would recomment to do nothing but care for the tree for the next 12 months.

Yea,

I have been focusing on proper soil and will look to start some light feeding. However, I primarily cut off dead branches in the canopy. Thinned some bulk pads and removed a few candles/buds.

My thought was reduce a bit of energy to support the foliage because of the root ball reduction.

The energy you are moving.. You are actually taking away the tools that the trees has for growing roots. The needles and buds.

I have a bad reputation with pines. So will not tell you not to trim. But to me it feels the wrong response :)

Interesting, I took less than 10% of the foliage. Have you ever used a root hormone on a tree this large?

My pines are doing very well and I agree with what you write. I would not have touched the tree and would not have removed buds / needles for at least the first year. 10% isn't that much though.

Intesting material!

Why? It is a plant with roots?

Rooting hormone is to grow roots on plants that do not have them. In other words, they help the cambium to grow root cells in a place that normally would not. Roots know they grow roots :)
