Jade plant dying was created by Eap 8

I have a new jade bonsai which recently lost all its leaves. It seems like that could be a sign of under watering, but I water it every few days, every time the top of the soil is dry. Could I be overwatering it? I have attached a picture of the full plant, and a close up of the shriveling branches.
Thank you!

I don't keep jades as bonsai, but as houseplant. And every other day watering on succulants is a bad idea.
Where the leafs yellowing and squicy? Then its overwatering. If they schrink and turn black from bottom leafs first. then for me underwatering. But that happens after a long time dry. Not a few days but more like weeks or months

Thank you. The leaves definitely turned darker and shriveled. Can it still be revived by more watering?

Absolutely not. The cause seems overwatering. The plant doesn't need much water, but now that it has no leaves, so it's not evaporating water so it needs even less. I'd let it dry out and water very sparsely.

Don't give more water. Most likely, all roots are rotted and gone, and the plant can't retract water from roots, and is using energy from its leafs.
If would check the roots, and post a picture.
if there rotted, i would cut it off, + any stem rot. Then let the succulent dry a few days outside a pot! So the wound can callus over.
Then pot it up, in not waterd soil, (soil is outit self already a bit moist) then after a week, a few spoons of water at the trunk. And after a 2weeks again. (Same was a rooting a cutting)
Before you do the above, show us a picture of the tree out of the pot.

Just looking at this makes me think.. It is way too dark. This planbt needs several hours of sun each day to do well over time. Is it sitting in the brighest place you can give it?

If you keep it in a cool room, it needs to stay VERY dry. Only when it is warmer is it OK to water these.

I second that. If you are in the nothern hemisphere, now is the winter rest f?r jades. Totalt dry, cold and as much sun as possible is the way. If you can provide 5-10 degrees, no sun is needed.

I have a few jade plants outdoors. I always notice the leaves turning red instead of yellow when over watering is a problem.

Confirmed.
Overwatering will not turn the leaves red. What will cause red leaves is:

Etreme heat
Excess sunlight
Lack of water
Lack of nutrients

When it receives full sun, the tips / rims will turn red and indeed that's perfectly normal.
