Hi,

Recently bought my first bonsai tree and noticed that the wire has been left on too long.

Is it safe to remove it??

hard to tell without a picture. Wire that has been overgrown can damage the tree severely when removed

I can see no wires, but wire marks and aerial roots.
But the picture is sort of misleading, try to shoot a better one maybe?

If you can see the wire, try to remove it without damaging the bark any further.
Cut the wire in small pieces rather then try to unwind.

I'm going to disagree with that. On the photo it is not clear there's wire in these grooves. If there is, it is too deep and must not be removed.
If wire is grown in too deep, you cannot remove it without damaging the tree.
