This is tricky. Removing it -e.g. with fine pliers- is an option. But you can damage the bark doing so, and might affect is badly.

Were it mine, I would find the end and gently pull it out, and take the risk of killing (part of) the tree.

What would happen if it kills part of the tree?

yeah. Tricky part is.. You do not know whether just a bit of bark dies, or whether whole trunk sections or even the complete top dies. Depends a lot on how much park gets pulled off. I would probably do this in summer when the tree is very happy.

Let's be a bit realistic. A experienced bonsai grower with knowledge of ficuses could carefully try, find the beginning of the wire, gently try and remove a small bit and see what damage it will cause, and consider his options.

Do not try this as a beginner. Just leave it be. It'll grow over. Sure, it will leave a mark, but so will removing the wire. Why take the risk?
If you want something better, just get better material.

And part of finding better material is knowing what to look for and what is not desirable. You now know what wire left on too long looks like and can probably now identify wire-related scarring too.
