Hi guys. After years of moderate research I’ve finally gotten my first bonsai, a green mound juniper. I’ve only had it for a week and noticed a new growth a few days ago - it doesn’t look like juniper but I’m such a novice. What do you think? Thank you for your help.

If it's the juniper in your avatar... then you didn't do enough research.

I didn’t research this one in particular, this was a gift. I’m just looking for a little guidance or insight guys - I have no real experience, gotta start somewhere.

looks like a weed to me. id just pull it out.

If you have done "years of moderate research" I'm sure you know that this is not a bonsai?

Low growing brush, ground cover, marketed by retailers as bonsai because its in a little pot. I'm starting to feel like I owe a sacrifice to the gods for what I thought was a simple question (clearly the word "moderate" was a stretch). Thanks for straightening me out. You all can have this.
