Talking about "a bit high"..... I mean... 6.075 USD? Really?

USD 42,00 for this pot stick ? :pinch:

It's just a young juniper with the lower branches cut off. You can buy something better for this amount at an ordinary nursery.

Ah.. indeed. It is a 3 year old plant. You cannot call that a bonsai, or even a pre-bonsai.

I came across this site that carries dwarf japanese prebonsai. This one in particular I like for the price.

Jeeez man you can buy something like that for 5 euros at any nursery around here, I believe that if you visited your local one you would find something around that price too, just for a starter material like that avoid any shops with "bonsai" in the name .... you would end up paying even 10x more for a young juniper called "bonsai" or "prebonsai" ....

Prune it a bit, shape it a bit, put it in a bonsai pot, and you have exactly that what is being sold as bonsai for a far higher amount. They'll call it cascade or windswept style... or a beginner's bonsai.

Do NOT do the above, you'll kill it.

Nice material to practice on - and if it doesn't work out, you will not have lost a huge amount of money.
Take your time with it. What kills most trees is people trying to do too much in a too short period.

Wonder which one you think looks better - your 5 dollar juniper, or this 'beginner's bonsai' for almost 40,00 !

Right now Im just watering it and keeping it alive til the meeting. I will repot it in march/april. Between that bonsai and my juniper. Im gonna pick mine just because it is mine and I saved money. Also when I repot it should I use a clay pot or a plastic training pot?
