Was in the local garden centre and seen this ficus robusta. It was in the reduced to clear section and didn't look to happy.

So at 3 euro I thought I couldn't leave it there. So I'm going to try learn on this tree.

No questions on it cause I'm going to research it. Just wanted to share that the bug has bit me and I can see myself getting more trees in the coming weeks!

Sure, but this has nothing to do with bonsai.

I know it is not a bonsai but can over time it can be made into one can it not?

those leaves are very big.. could be difficult.. but I am not familiar with this type of plant.. but leaf size is a key issue.

This type of ficus is very popular for house plant, never saw it like small tree in pot though. Size of the leaves is the main challenge here.

No, this is not suitable for real bonsai. Better put your energy into something else- and keep this as a nice house plant.

I know it's not a common species used for bonsai but I have seen alot of information about them online and videos of them been used as bonsai.

I have never seen a ficus elastica as a bonsai. Please share the sites where you have seen them. I had one with a 10cm trunk and decided to give up on it.
