ah well. I supose opinions on what bonsai are differ. :dry:
Guess I had a ficus elastica bonsai too.

I know. I 've seen them too, including Pony tail palms, Aloe Vera and coconuts. You cannot simply put any plant in a pot and call it bonsai.

Ok my apologies I was mistaken .

Struggling to find good new material to work with any of the common species used for bonsai are usually mallasi type trees here in ireland.

Indeed the first one you found when you looked it up on Youtube. Interestingly, he does show very nice real bonsai too.
