Thanks to you all for the advice. The class went great. Gave me some hands on experience that I like. The instructor has great trees. A wide variety of styles, ages, and species. He gave me the inspiration and motivation I need to continue. I also got 2, 8year old junipers out of it. The class was 6 hours and had 7 people. It was a great balance of art and science. I felt like all the reading I've done on this site, has given me a leg up.
I will continue to grow

feel free to show some pictures of those 2 trees.. and if even possible, if you would have pictures from before any styling..

I'm curious about your junipers!

FYI... I'm artistic by nature. Meaning.. I've drawn all my life, love to sing, dance, sculpt, and even some poetry for my wife. I also graduated with a BS in Industrial Design. But boy was it humbling to look at these trees and the transformations. I wanted to create something from an 8 yr old tree, when the instructor had to remind me to sculpt for the future. I got a little lost. It was very clear to me that it takes a culmination of things to create and sustain a small tree. And then to train it into a 名媛直播 is going to be extremely rewarding. If I get that far with these junipers.
I will post a couple pictures. I also went out and got a small green house to fit on my patio. We live in a condominium and have limited space. We're currently shopping for a house and we're both eager to grow things. The instructor offered to buy my house ficus. He sees potential in it, and I'd love to see what he can make of it. But I'm also a little reluctant to let go of it. I've kept it alive for almost 12 yrs.
Any other view points on selling or keeping, would be appreciated.

The first is the juniper I received at Christmas. I didn't know about substrate or if I should repot it and didn't want to risk shocking it. But I think it's close to dead. The other two are the ones I wired and trimmed in class. I think I may put a rock on the informal upright
