Be interested to hear about peoples experiences using anti transpirant spray, particularly in relation to collecting.
I have a couple of uses for this if people seem to think its a good option...
1- In a few months I'm collecting in an area that is likely to take a couple days to get back home in my car from the site, and I'm wondering if (provided everything goes ok with the dig) anti transpirant spray is a good way of limiting transpiration while travelling until I can get trees home and box up.
2- Similar to above but with more controlled root balls: I have 20 or so trees in ground that in the next 2-3 years will be able to be removed, however these are located about 3 days drive from where I live. I'd like to dig these and transport them en masse to my house before potting up.

I would always try to pot collected trees on the same day of collecting. However, if you collect correctly, you will have a solid rootball covered in foil. So the roots would not ry out. As you collect before thr growing really starts, it should be ok. I do not see the use for sprays.
