Not watered for over a month was created by Westy

I haven't watered for so long I'm getting worried!

I'm following everything I have read and not watering until the soil starts to feel dry, but this never seems to happen

Some are under cover in the garden, some in the shed next to a big window, so none getting any rain fall, I think the moisture levels in my shed and garden must be pretty high!

Is there a point when I should just water them or should I stick to my guns and wait until they dry out a bit?

Thanks

I have an area on my patio that gets water from every rainfal from drainage that splashes off of the roof.. Some of my trees really like this area and wanted to mention it just in case this might be your case. If so don't worry about it. Otherwise, as long as your soil has good drainage, it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and water them. When you water make sure water comes out the bottom of the pot just to make sure there's nothing blocking the drainage holes.

Yes mid winter here in England and been fairly cold, down to -5C
Thanks leather back that puts my mind at rest!
Are yours undercover? I did with mine as I didn't want them to get waterlogged as we get a fair bit of rain
Thanks again

Thanks Geoff, I thought there would be more rain so I built the shelter over my bench, still it's helped protect from the frosts, I will wait until they dry out a little

On another note, outdoor bonsai in a cold shed next to window, is this OK?
I was thinking the lack of air circulation would be a problem, so thinking of making some vents at either side of the shed, anything else to think about?

Mine are all out in the weather. Only now (With a predicted -10 last night) did I put a few species in the greenhouse. And I have 2 trees dry, because they have weak deadwood that need preserving. The rest.. They will have to endure the weather.

Covered bench is fine. the main thing is to keep them a bit drier. My Tridents and Satsukis are under the open cover to keep the rain off.
