What to buy: something of good quality. They shouldn't be very expensive. Don't buy cheap stuff. I once did, but it was useless - it leaked lots of water.
Where to buy... whichever shop is the cheapest. Google for it.
I got this one. The long wand is needed for plants I cannot easily reach. The nozzle has several settings, I usually use the one that gives a mild shower.

I think that, especially starting out, people become very entranced by the aesthetic nature of bonsai, and that bleeds into the thought that all related equipment must also be stylized, specific, etc. The best watering utensil I've used per price is this:
