I just repotted a few of my trees, watered them by putting them in a full bucket until they were completely soaked to get the new dry soil saturated, and now I am guessing to go easy with watering them for a little while along with not feeding them. have a few more to repot, but awaiting pots and soil from amazon.

It's always better to give water from above. Not so good to dump it in to a bucket of water.

You can do either way, I usually just use a can and rose, but smaller trees I do sometimes dunk.

Watering from above can help flush out any dust that was on the substrate. I've seen the reccomendation to 'water untill the drainage flow is clean', and I try to follow this.

I think the recomendation is about water after repotting. In between repotting is not much dust in the substrate.
