Please help. I was gifted my first bonsai 3 weeks ago. She is an Azalea. I've done everything according to the paperwork. Only thing, I live in Yuma AZ it is waaaaay to hot to UT er outside. She is dropping leaves. At this rate she will be limbs in a month. Is it normal or am I killing her? There are no bonsai groups, stores or people within 4 hours of me so you kind people are literally my ONLY hope of saving her. Anybody want to be a 名媛直播 mentor lol because I am in dire need of one. Catch 22 there. Too hot outside, but inside it will definitely die. Ill say the best chanse is still put it outside in shaded area.

No Azaleas, but I do have other flowering plants outside. I'll put her out there in the shade. Do I continue to mist her twice daily?

Misting is a myth- humidity doesn’t magically stay around your tree.

Plants need water, misting is not enough

Putting a tree in a small pot does not change any of its basic needs. If there are no azaleas in your surrounding area it might be because it cannot grow there. According to online resources azalea can take cold down to usda zone 3 and heat up to zone 9. If you live in an area with usda zone 9, you might have big problems making it survive.

Azaleas do well in not too hot climates with plenty of water.

You can't do much to cool off the climate, but you can water two-three times a day. In the low humidity there once a day won't be enough.
