I have a Brazilian Raintree which has a white fuzzy growth covering some of the rocks in the drain tray, as well as some white scale on upper exposed roots.
Can anyone tell me what it is, what caused it, and how to treat it?

It is probably scale, calcium carbonates, depositing due to the use of hard water. But without picture it is hard to tell for sure.
Use rainwater, or acidify the water.

Picture attached. Tree does not look good-leaves are wilting. Any suggestions?
