Should I prune this?

Hi, new guy here.
I have owned, and unfortunately neglected, this bougainvillea for about 15 years and finally have some time to take care of it. (I just retired ) There's one branch that I think should go, but I'm not a hundred percent sure.
What does everyone think? One or two?
Thanks
Rob

if you cut the third branch on the right (bottom to top) then I would say the balance of the branches is lost. just my view though.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm just a little confused. Are you referring to the branch I "erased" in the second photo or a different one?

no, sorry, i mean the third one on the right, it does, in my eyes, look odd (not in health) .

If you mean this one, that's fine. It will be removed. I'm just using it as an anchor point for a wire right now.

OK, I see. Maybe this photo from a different angle will clarify things a little.

...And it has . I have babbled on and it in the end has resulted in pointlessness. Yes, i agree with your choice of branch to remove (the one erased in second photo).

I beg to differ. I would not remove that branch, it's in a good position there.
Wish I'd seen that other photo earlier... as I've been playing with the first ones and now the result makes no sense
Based on the first one, where I see a lot of very long branches, I was wondering making it a wind-swept style would be a good idea.
