Should I prune this?

Thank you. I appreciate your input. One problem with this is the fact that this tree hates to have it's roots trimmed even a little. It would take several years just to get it down to a size where it could fit in such a shallow pot, but still worth consideration.

But it wouldn't look that good in a deeper pot. At least I don't think so.

Just looking at the overall image I would not remove the branch. I would however, aim for a reduction of all branches by almost 50%. You woul dget a much more compact tree, and the trunk would relatively double in girth making a much stronger image.
Then again.. I do not know whether the leaves allow such reduction, as I cannot really tell the size of the plant from your pics.

The tree is 29 inches across from tip to tip and 17 inches high from the surface of the soil.

Also, the leaves on this tree are quite large, so shorter branches might look a little odd.
