I'm from Brazil and I'm starting in art now... The forum here in Brazil is not very busy so I'm trying my luck here... This is my first attempt with a Juniperus chinensis Stricta... To begin with, I did the pruning and wire... I appreciate suggestions

I do not understand why the trunk is wired. If you are aiming for a formal upright tree there are no reason to wire the trunk.

It seems like you removed the branches one normally want to keep (the thin ones) and kept the ones one normally want to prune (the thick ones).

On the photo it looks very two dimensional. But that is often the case with two dimensional photos. Are there any branches growing forward and backwards?

There are no before photo so it is very hard to tell if the styling desitions made is good or bad. But I always look for posibilities to reduce the hight in early styling. And in junipers I prefere informal upright as it looks more natural for the species.

But all of it is very common beginner misstakes that we all have done. Just care for the tree and let it grow full again. In a few years you will get a new chanse, by then you will know more about bonsai styling.

The wire in trunk is just the ancor…
The big branch i want to keep to make a second treetop or a more developed branch…
I Will take more pics from top and backward
I think you are right… now i thin it would be better in informal style…

Maybe what? Yes, carving most of the mid section may help to take that necessary trunk reduction decition.
