Good first start.
What have you used for wiring/ Is is aluminium wire?
You should try to get the wire to connect with the trunk along the whole trunk. To practice, go our and find some branches from hedges. Prune, wire and bend to get a feel for it, without ruining your tree
Then, when the wire is nicely connected with the bark all along the length of the trunk, you can gently put bends in the trunk, where the branches come on the outside of bends.
