Hi All,
Od.. I thought this tree would be on here.. A long time ago I bought a yew in a nursery to create a formal upright tree out. I trimmed it, fed it and.. Forgot about it. Today at my bonsaichool the theme was ormal upright. So I decided to revived this yew from my backbench and give it a chance on life. No before, as I thought this was on here already.. AND YES..Chokkan is the term. But the title does not edit.
Would be happy to hear your thoughts. I think 2 branches are missing to create a good rythm.

With a little luck a bud appears, otherwise you can hide the gap whith the branch at the back.

Which lower branch? There are 2 small yins at the bottom of the trunk, if that is what you mean? And there are shari all along the trunkline, which I put there when originally bought. These are now starting to swell and mature.MajorGoob wrote: Are you planning on (creating?) Shari out of that lower branch? Or is it jin?

Time? Letting lower branches extend and keeping upper short. And buying good material that already has taper
