I like it. Its alot like my crab apple they take a long time to develop into anything of style you got to just keep cutting back and letting it grow and repeating untill fall when you can see what branch structure is relevant and can be pruned ready for the following spring and the process to start over again.
I do like the way crab apples have something to give for every season from spring blooms to the apples at the end of season.

I like to see it flower too much to remove the flower buds, but I will remove the flowers once they start wilting, so no apples will develop, and the tree can put more energy into developing buds and branches.
