This is a boxwood I've been preparing to dig up for two years,finally did it. I really like the shape and it has a natural hollow in the trunk, I really hope it survives I think it will make a nice bonsai in a few years, does anyone agree ?

It's a bit tall but I do think it could make a nice bonsai. You should refine that hollow and wouldit look nice

I agree. Good to see something with potential among the endless stream of mallsai, dying plants and other rubbish.

Yeah it is tall, I'm worried about it being top heavy, I hope I've anchored it enough,! Can I work on the hollow soon? I don't suppose it would hurt the shrub if it's deadwood?

When you are hollowing out anything, play close attention to the color of bark, in other words, make sure not to ruin the live vein when your hollowing out a tree. Let the natural decay of the deadwood do its job to hollow itself out. The decay shouldn't affect the live vein, just make sure to monitor its decomposition. After all that how trees hollow in the wild, and it will look way better natural than tool marks. Don't get me wrong, I use power tools, but to achive a natural look, carving tools are definitely the route to go

I will take care,luckily it's easy in this case because nature's done most of the job for me, the dedwood is really rotten and soft I can gently pull it off,but I didn't want to do to much so soon after transplanting it. Thanks for the msg

Also in the future, should I remove the lowest branch? In some picture it doesn't look bad, but others it looks twisted and out of place?

Imho that's the only branch you can't remove . Nice material, keep us updated

Agreeing with Drakes. You do want to keep lower branches. You may want to try and shorten the tree and find a new leader.
