A couple of questions first:
Does anyone know the exact type of tree/bush? From what I have seen and the identify guide it is some kind of juniper or possibly a cypress, but I can't tell which one. The garden center didn't have a specific label as to what this guy is... just needle-leaf plants
Any suggestions on where to go with style? It will take a lot of work to make this tree into something, if at all, but I'm interested to hear whatyou might say/do. I am going to wait for any real cutting until next year, I did take off some of the buds on the lower parts of the trunks.
Now some comments:
The place where I took the photos is not where the tree is... just wanted some easier light to take the pictures.
I had to put it in some sort of pot, so I chose one of the bigger ones that I have, that kind of fits the tree. And just for a point of reference: the garden center here sells these plants for 2.99€

If you want honest input.. If this was only a few bucks, I would have saved up a little more, spend tenfold what you paid now, and get something with a trunk. This is really too young to work into anything realistic, imho.

you're probably right. This isn't the only thing I'm working on thankfully.

Well worse keeping, a few more like this and the forces start. Double trunk test drive, just start slowly on this tree, then you see what comes out. get it soiled up in good draining bonsai substrate. Let it sit for a season and watch it grow while you gain more information on bonsai in general. Juniper as such, never take more then 20-30% of the foliage off. Since you have time, there is no hurry, you could plant it outside if you got space, or give it a big wooden box with lots of drainage. Before you go further do the first steps and get informed. Have fun and its always good to ask first. When you post the next pictures insert them, then we can view it directly. Have fun!!

Like I said this isn't the only tree I have.. I'm trying to work on a few different trees of different stages. I may look into a box but I had to take it out of the plastic container. it was heavily root bound and although it is healthy, wouldn't have stayed that way for long.
