This hawthorn was collected from a friends pasture February 28, 2016. It's the largest tree I've ever collected, and it's doing really well. There are several species of hawthorn in the area, mostly
Crataegus viridis, but bark, thorns & leaves on this one appear to be
C. punctata. I'm excited.
The tree was cleaned after collection, roots trimmed up neat, rooting hormone & good soil. Guy wires keep it firm in the pot. With soil & all, it requires two people to lift. Being that my wife is still asleep this morning and rain is coming, you'll have to settle on this image for now. I'll update further into the summer/fall.

The other hawthorn in the vid is a
C. viridis and doing fine.
