Hey I could take you for a walk there are tons of small hornbeams around if you know where to look :)
But as you could guess - for one with interesting features you have to bow down and inspect 100 of them first.
I took many walks looking for material throughout winter and seen lots of them, but finished with only 3 trees
worth collecting this spring. This is 2nd of them. I am still waiting for this one to show signs of life before I collect it:

That would be it for this season (of deciduous trees).

No. I wrote details about my yamadori trees on my blog so I copy it here for you:

I didn?t need a permit for this one. There is a great orchard to be cleared anytime now that is over my village since communist times that nobody?s been taking care of for over 25 years.
Thats why there are some small hornbeams that haven?t had a chance to grow tall because of overgrown weeds and apple trees.
2 guys has been preparing trees for future bonsai in there for a few years and then suddenly large portion was cleared off without any notice to anybody and it broke their hearts. They lost some great material I was told. ?ll the trees were pulled out by tractors and burned.

And recent one where I had to save an oak last minute:

Kristof, it seems as you have already built a magnificent Yamadori Hunter Party (YHP)...
