Hello again guys, last year i noticed some one clearing their garden, i took this from the skip and got it home asap, it lives on and is growing strong, i think there is potential here but i dont have the confidence or experience, i dont know what to do with it,(if anything) i have no bonsai club or anyone who would know/care. i would really appreciate some advice. for starters, does it have potential?

There could be an interesting raft-style bonsai in it, but I can't see what type of tree it is. Do you happen to know that?

If it was mine, I definately would try a raft style bonsai.
I've not done that myself before, but of course, others have, so there are good instructions to be found:

Make sure you keep the original root ball untill enough new roots have formed to support the remaining branches.

An example of a boxwood raft:

Quick sketch (without pot or shaping of the branches... sorry :) )

Copied the photo, used magic wand to cut out the part I needed, rotated it, used flood fill to create a new background, clone brush... pretty basic. It's not a great sketch, I don't have the patience for it... but I guess it's good enough to demonstrate the idea.

It's always good to wait :)
