Got this Itoigawa Yamadori from last year.

This tree comes from taisho-en the nursery of Urushibata.
The tree originally comes from a bigger tree, they grafted roots and foliage on it and separated it.

The first few steps are made , but it has still a long way to go...

That tree has already come a long way, and the ones next to it. Surly, you jest. It wouldn't take much trimming, for the show.

It still needs a few years to become show ready.
Some places need to fill up, need to wire out a little more, more spaces should be created.
A new old or antique pot,...

yes, but ... I can't wait, please show us when it's even close to done.
