Hi all, I recently acquired a small giant sequoia with the intention of training it into a bonsai eventually. If anybody on here has had any experience with this species I'd appreciate some advice. I think I should transfer it into a larger nursery pot to speed up trunk and branch growth? Should I cut off unnecessary lower branches now or wait till the trunk has some girth and appeal? All advice is welcome.
Thx, Brad.

Yeah it was only on my balcony for a few days.. I've removed some lower branches and it has thickened a bit but I'm going to enlarge the pot and feed the hell out of it next growing season..
