I found this tree on a dutch auction site. The seller was actually selling the pot, in which I had no interest. I got the tree for 10 euro.

It had 3 long branches (still there on the photo), I have removed the lowest one and I've shortened the second one. I will shorten the long branch/trunk in the middle later, and re-grow branches and top. It has loads, see the 2nd photo. I've potted it today. I'll do some carving and work on some old cuts, but other than that I don't think I'll do much - I'm going to let it grow, and see how well it does.

LB: I think on your photos I saw a similar project?

I am not sure which project you think you saw on my pictures..? Same species? Because I have 2 boxwood, but a lot taller

Yes, I think this has potential - and if it doesn't work out, there's not a lot of money lost
The tree I saw must have been a boxwood, it was in one of the red/brown containers. I purchased a similar one today (as I do have a lot of pots, but none this size...). I looks like you've used the same substrate as I have.

That Lonicera is nice... I don't think I have the budget for it though

It has a nice nebari. The cut does not look to nice but as you say, you will carve into it. The best medicine for styling trees is to let them grow

I have, to say, this looks like an interesting project...

I would like to keep up to date very much on this one.

I am moving away from kittylitter as main soil comonent. With the wet fristy weather it expands too much water..

It's been wet indeed. My lawn is a total mess, soil is very wet, has been wet for a long time, and become quite compact. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it yet...

What do you mean with 'expands too much water'? Do you mean it retains too much and stays too wet?
My box is in FB, with a little bit of standard potting soil. I considered mixing it with Kiryu, but that would have required almost a full bag - which would have cost more than the entire tree. I wonder if I could use japanese split (sold at gardening centers, quite cheap)... not sure.

Hehe, nope. the one on the left is a potentilla. That one is now in Tickles garden though. The other one is a Cotinus purpurea

The grains hold a lot of water. When you get nightly frost in wet periods, the water comes out of the grains, and the substrate swells by up to 20%. Feels like that cannot be good for the roots. So I have reduced it to maybe 10-20%, just as little water-balls in the substrate

Aaah... I should have recognized your potentilla!
I know that's a Cotinus, I've had one. Killed it
