It's beautiful. I have a question though: How did you get that moss to grow? Did you plant it, or did it just kind of happen? I'm trying to get together ideas for ground cover.

It just happened, firstly it had no moss, but after a while there was plenty moss You can also collect some moss that's growing near your home so that it's sure to survive in your climate, then, after it has been 'rooted' on the ground, there will be more and more. But keep the moss away a bit from the trunk, or it won't let the water pass through and the moss will absorb most of the water
Now it's in 50% bims and 50% akadama and I like the ground it is now, it has some more rough character, for decidious trees I do some moss on it to make it feels like it's growing in an old big forest.

Very interesting so far.
With the wire being on for some months now, check and make sure that it's not cutting into the bark. If it is, remove it and don't rewire until the growing season is done.
Best of luck with it!

Thank you, the tree was already unwired some weeks ago. Now it's just waiting to let more branches grow for the layers and prune it when it needs to be done. I'll post some more pictures later when it's taking some more progression

Here is a new picture, taken today (23-06-11)
The branches needs some more downwards and also the foliage is in some places too thick, it needs some more foliage above the pads and less on the sides.
But it looks like it's doing well after the repot

The tree looks nice, try and reduce the pom poms at the end of the branches...The tree will back bud more if you thin those areas...Just a little more refinement...Still looking good buddy!!

Thank you,
yes, the first right branch is good, now the other ones.
I'll try to reduce them next week, I'll keep you up-to-dated!

I've posted a long time no progressions on this topic!
Well, it has grown a lot, many new foliage and shoots emerging everywhere! I'll go in March to a workshop and he's the lucky one who will get styled then. I unfortunately don't have pictures for now, but I'll make them during the workshop, so you all have to wait a bit longer!

It has been a long time ago (since about June last year) that I gave you updates about this tree.
Yesterday I was at a workshop together with Oscar and 2 members of the Dutch version of the forum
and I took this tree with, I've styled it and it looks really nice, worked on the layers of foliage, removed one of the 2 opposite branches and I've accentuated the movement to the left, as you can see.
Enjoy!
Working on the tree (one in the green vest, that's me!), Teunis-Jan Klein from the workshop is helping me while my brothers are watching
Picture that I made today (just one day after the workshop)
